Description
STEINWAY, MODEL L, MAHOGANY, GRAND PIANO #225041 Built in 1924, 26, JUNE and purchased by William A. Earl of 46 West 85th St. N.Y. N.Y. Shortly thereafter it was sold to our Aunt Grace Parlin Davis a Concert Pianist who died tragically in 1944. Her husband Wilbur Davis gave the piano to us as a wedding gift on 20 December 1952. Unfortunately it had to stay with my mother in law untill we found a house to fit it. The piano was returned to the Steiway company in N.Y.C. in 1957 for complete restoration before being delivered to us in 1958. This work of art has been ours ever since, always properly maintained ,tuned and loved. In 2004 we had it reconditioned by Rand Reeves the best technician in the Capitol Region of N.Y.. This included- New Bridge Caps, Restored and Refinished Soundboard, Re-Bronzed Plate, New Strings, New Dampers, New Hammers, Re-Pinned Shanks and Flanges, Regulate Action and Voicing and Tuning. There is a small amount of cosmetic damage along the left side that will cost 2400.00 to fix. I took off that amount from the price to balance it out. This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of hand crafted magnificence worthy of a kings palace. We will deliver within 50 miles of Downtown Saratoga Springs N.Y. any further is buyers responsibility. Feel free to ask questions or request more pics. Payment by certified check,or money order. 8000.00 due 3 days after auction (non Refundable) the balance is due no more than 5 days later. This item is being sold for Reverand H.W.Smith by me, so it may take a day or two to answer questions. Thank you Arrangements can be made to play this fine instrument, just get in touch and we will fix a date. It was asked if the keys were Ivory we do not think so. If they were they would probably be yellow and cracked by now. Thoughts are that they were replaced in the '58 reconditioning. The new owner of this will be very satisfied. Thank you for looking. New lower price!
